Most insurance companies require a trial of conservative therapy, documented by your treating physician, that includes medical grade compression stockings for 6 weeks to 6 months. The sooner this requirement is met, the sooner treatment can begin.

2. Will insurance help with the cost?

In most cases insurance and medicare will cover treatment of vein problems including endovenous ablation, phlebectomy (vein removal) and some injections. Out of pocket expense depends on many factors, such as deductible met and the specifics of the individual plan.
